The REL No.31 is a high-performance subwoofer from REL's Reference Series, developed to bring flagship-level bass reproduction to systems where the larger No.32 may be impractical. Combining a 12-inch pure carbon-fibre driver, 900W NextGen 7 amplification and a rigid sealed cabinet, No.31 delivers exceptional low-frequency control, dynamic authority and musical detail for high-end stereo and home cinema systems.

12-INCH PURE CARBON-FIBRE DRIVER

The front-firing 12-inch (300mm) long-throw driver features a carbon-fibre cone with an inverted carbon-fibre centre cap and die-cast alloy chassis. A specially wound 3-inch voice coil and substantial magnetic assembly provide the control needed for demanding low-frequency passages.

Its sealed-box construction eliminates the need for a passive radiator, while delivering a specified low-frequency extension of 17Hz at -6dB. The result is a subwoofer designed to reproduce both powerful bass transients and the subtle low-frequency information that gives music its natural scale.

900W NEXTGEN 7 AMPLIFICATION

No.31 uses REL's NextGen 7 Class D amplifier, derived from the flagship No.32 and rated at 900W RMS. REL's LimitLess Limiter helps maintain dynamic performance under demanding conditions, while the analogue signal architecture supports precise integration with the main loudspeakers.

Two independent parametric filters allow adjustments to low-frequency response and crossover behaviour, helping compensate for room interactions without compromising the character of the system.

REFERENCE REMOTE & FLEXIBLE CONNECTIVITY

The included REL Reference Remote provides convenient adjustment of crossover frequency, gain, phase and dual parametric equalisation from the listening position.

REL's Neutrik Speakon High-Level input supports integration with compatible stereo amplifiers. RCA low-level inputs and dedicated RCA and balanced XLR LFE connections accommodate preamplifiers and home cinema processors. High-Level and LFE signal paths can operate simultaneously in appropriately configured systems.

Optional REL AirShip II wireless connectivity is also supported, providing an alternative to long signal cables.

REFERENCE CABINET & LINE ARRAY DESIGN

The No.31 features REL's distinctive curved Reference cabinet, finished in twelve coats of Piano Black lacquer. Its internally reinforced sealed construction and premium metal detailing combine mechanical stability with a refined appearance.

It can be used individually, as a stereo pair or in vertically stacked Reference Line Arrays. Multiple subwoofers provide additional low-frequency headroom, scale and room coverage, while allowing individual crossover and gain adjustments.
