REL CARBON SPECIAL BLACK LABEL SUBWOOFER

The REL Carbon Special Black Label is a high-performance powered subwoofer from REL's Serie S range, incorporating driver technology developed for the Reference series. Its 12-inch carbon-fibre active driver, 900W Linear Class D amplifier and down-firing passive radiator are housed in an enlarged cabinet designed for demanding stereo music systems, home cinema and multi-subwoofer installations.

REFERENCE-INSPIRED CARBON-FIBRE DRIVER

The front-firing 12-inch active driver uses a carbon-fibre cone with an inverted carbon-fibre centre cap and a die-cast alloy chassis. Its long-throw suspension supports substantial cone movement while maintaining mechanical control. This driver architecture is closely related to that used in REL's No.31 Reference subwoofer.

A 12-inch down-firing Carbon/Carbon passive radiator complements the active driver, contributing to a specified low-frequency extension of 19Hz at -6dB.

900W LINEAR CLASS D AMPLIFICATION

REL's 900W RMS Linear Class D amplifier combines a substantial conventional power supply with an efficient output stage. The design incorporates a large transformer and dedicated heatsinking to support demanding low-frequency passages. Fully analogue filtering allows adjustment of crossover and level for integration with the main loudspeakers.

HIGH-LEVEL, LOW-LEVEL & LFE CONNECTIVITY

REL's Neutrik Speakon High-Level connection allows integration with compatible stereo amplifiers. Two RCA low-level inputs and dedicated RCA and balanced XLR LFE inputs support alternative configurations with preamplifiers and home cinema processors. High-Level and LFE connections may be used simultaneously in suitably configured systems.

Optional REL Airship Direct wireless connectivity is supported for installations where running signal cables is impractical.

PREMIUM FINISH & LINE ARRAY DESIGN

The Carbon Special Black Label features eight coats of Piano Black lacquer, recessed stainless-steel handles and precision levelling adjustments. A Premium Wood Grille is included as standard.

The cabinet supports individual installation, stereo pairs and vertically stacked REL Line Arrays. Supplied mounting hardware allows compatible units to be combined into larger configurations as the system develops.
