DAVIS ACOUSTICS COURBET N°8 FLOORSTANDING SPEAKERS
The Davis Acoustics Courbet N°8 is the largest model in the Courbet range, designed for listeners who want a slim floorstander with genuine large-room capability. Its 3-way architecture combines a 21cm carbon-fibre woofer, dedicated 13cm Kevlar midrange and 28mm soft-dome tweeter, with all three drivers developed and manufactured by Davis Acoustics in Troyes, France.
COURBET N°8 3-WAY DRIVER ARCHITECTURE
Each frequency range is handled by a dedicated driver. The 13cm Kevlar midrange is derived from Davis’ Olympia One Master platform, while the 28mm TW28CD soft-dome tweeter uses a dual-decompression design. The dedicated 21cm carbon woofer is specific to the Courbet N°8 and provides the radiating area needed for higher output and stronger low-frequency capability.
21CM CARBON WOOFER
The 21cm carbon-cone woofer operates in a bass-reflex enclosure with a circular port. Davis specifies a frequency response of 35Hz–25kHz at ±3dB, giving the Courbet N°8 useful full-range extension while retaining a cabinet width of only 23.5cm. The speaker is intended to maintain control and definition even at higher listening levels.
92.5DB SENSITIVITY & AMPLIFIER MATCHING
With 92.5dB sensitivity, 150W nominal power handling and a 4–8Ω impedance range, the Courbet N°8 can be partnered with a broad selection of quality amplification. Its efficiency also makes it suitable for listeners using lower-powered integrated or tube amplifiers, provided the amplifier is comfortable with the speaker’s impedance characteristics.
DESIGNED FOR LARGER LISTENING ROOMS
At 112.5cm tall and 33kg per speaker, the Courbet N°8 is built for medium to large spaces. The slightly rearward-tilted cabinet helps control internal standing waves and driver alignment, while the bass-reflex design supports substantial output without requiring an excessively wide enclosure.
