The REL HT/1205 MKII is a powerful sealed subwoofer designed to deliver dynamic, controlled bass for home cinema and entertainment systems. Known as "The Cannon", it combines a 12-inch CarbonGlas driver, a 500W Class D amplifier and a carefully engineered enclosure to reproduce movie effects, concert recordings and music with authority. Positioned between the compact HT/1003 MKII and the larger HT/1510 Predator, it offers an effective balance of output, cabinet size and value.

12-INCH CARBONGLAS DRIVER

The front-firing 12-inch (300mm) long-throw driver features a CarbonGlas cone with an inverted carbon-fibre centre cap and steel chassis. The lightweight composite structure provides the rigidity and controlled movement needed for powerful low-frequency reproduction.

Its closed-box design eliminates the need for a bass-reflex port or passive radiator, delivering a specified low-frequency extension of 22Hz at -6dB. This makes the HT/1205 MKII suitable for reproducing demanding soundtrack effects while retaining precision and clarity.

500W NEXTGEN5 CLASS D AMPLIFICATION

A dedicated 500W RMS NextGen5 Class D amplifier provides the power required for explosive cinema dynamics and demanding bass transients. REL's analogue filtering architecture is optimised for home theatre performance, maintaining controlled output and helping the subwoofer integrate smoothly with the main loudspeakers.

Adjustable crossover, gain and phase controls allow the HT/1205 MKII to be configured for different room sizes, loudspeaker combinations and AV receiver settings.

RCA LFE CONNECTIVITY & MULTI-SUBWOOFER SYSTEMS

The HT/1205 MKII provides stereo RCA low-level inputs that can also accommodate a dedicated LFE signal from an AV receiver or processor. Matching RCA outputs allow the signal to be passed to another compatible subwoofer, making it easy to expand a home cinema system with additional bass sources.

Unlike REL's Serie T/x, the HT/1205 MKII does not include a High-Level Neutrik Speakon connection. It is designed primarily for systems with RCA subwoofer or suitable preamplifier outputs.

COMPACT DESIGN & OPTIONAL WIRELESS CONNECTION

Despite its 12-inch driver and 500W amplifier, the HT/1205 MKII maintains manageable cabinet dimensions of 413 × 387 × 438mm. The enclosure features a textured, horizontally line-grained composite finish with a polished lacquer top panel, and is offered in Black and White.

For installations where a long signal cable is inconvenient, the optional REL HT-Air MKII wireless system provides an alternative connection. The wireless system is sold separately.
