Magnetar UDP800 MKII Universal Disc Player

MAGNETAR UDP800 MKII UNIVERSAL DISC PLAYER

The Magnetar UDP800 MKII is a premium 4K UHD universal disc player designed for exceptional music and movie reproduction. Combining Multi-Region playback, high-resolution audio, balanced XLR outputs and sophisticated video processing, it is an excellent choice for dedicated Hi-Fi and home cinema systems.

MULTI-REGION EDITION: The specially configured version supports Blu-ray Regions A, B and C and DVD Regions 1–6, making it ideal for collectors of international films and imported releases.

MULTI-REGION BLU-RAY AND DVD PLAYBACK

Enjoy a worldwide collection of movies without the usual geographical restrictions of a standard region-locked player.

• Blu-ray Regions A, B and C: Select the appropriate region for discs from different markets, including Europe, North America and Asia.
• DVD Regions 1–6: Region-free playback for compatible international DVD releases.
• 4K UHD Blu-ray: Supports compatible Ultra HD Blu-ray discs, which are generally distributed without regional playback restrictions.

The ability to play imported Blu-rays and DVDs makes this edition especially attractive to film collectors seeking limited releases, special editions and titles unavailable in their home market.

UNIVERSAL DISC COMPATIBILITY

The UDP800 MKII supports 4K UHD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, Super Audio CD (SACD) and conventional audio CDs. Compatible recordable discs and supported media files provide further flexibility.

This extensive format support allows one player to serve both a high-quality stereo music system and a modern home cinema installation.

UPGRADED ANALOGUE AUDIO PERFORMANCE

The MKII introduces a redesigned stereo audio board incorporating seven OPA1602 operational amplifiers, selected for low-noise and low-distortion performance.

Balanced stereo XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs allow connection to compatible integrated amplifiers, preamplifiers or active loudspeakers. The player delivers a manufacturer-specified signal-to-noise ratio of at least 120dB.

DOLBY VISION, HDR10+ AND CINEMATIC VIDEO

The UDP800 MKII supports 4K Ultra HD playback with Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HDR10. Its updated video processing architecture is designed to reproduce detailed images and accurate colour with compatible displays and discs.

4K upscaling can enhance playback of lower-resolution material, while Source Direct allows compatible video signals to be sent to an external display or processor without unnecessary resolution conversion.

DEDICATED HDMI AUDIO OUTPUT

Separate HDMI connections provide flexible integration with compatible displays and AV receivers. The dedicated HDMI audio output incorporates TMDS retiming circuitry, introduced in the MKII generation to improve digital signal integrity.

Dolby Atmos and DTS:X bitstreams can be delivered to a compatible AV receiver or processor, alongside high-resolution multichannel PCM and DSD audio.

USB AND NETWORK MEDIA PLAYBACK

The UDP800 MKII can play supported music and video files from USB storage devices and compatible local network sources. An improved USB 3.0 implementation enhances compatibility with external storage.

Ethernet networking supports access to compatible media libraries through local network protocols. Roon Ready operation and integration with supported home-control systems offer additional flexibility.

PREMIUM CHASSIS AND REFINED CONSTRUCTION

A reinforced metal chassis, improved disc-drive damping and separated internal circuit sections help reduce mechanical vibration and unwanted electrical interference.

Premium internal copper wiring and upgraded JST and Amphenol connectors distinguish the second-generation design, complementing its improved audio and video processing.

IDEAL FOR INTERNATIONAL FILM AND MUSIC COLLECTIONS

The Multi-Region UDP800 MKII combines worldwide disc compatibility, premium stereo audio and modern 4K home cinema performance in one versatile player.

It is an especially appealing alternative for listeners who want high-quality SACD and DVD-Audio playback alongside Blu-ray movies imported from different regions.
