DAVIS ACOUSTICS KRYPTON 6 FLOORSTANDING SPEAKERS
The Davis Acoustics Krypton 6 is the smallest floorstanding model in the Krypton range, designed for stereo systems in rooms of approximately 15–30m². Its true 3-way architecture combines a dedicated 13cm woofer, 13cm Kevlar midrange and 28mm soft-dome tweeter in a slim cabinet only 16cm wide.
KRYPTON 6 TRUE 3-WAY ARCHITECTURE
Unlike many compact floorstanders that use a 2.5-way arrangement, the Krypton 6 gives bass, midrange and treble their own dedicated drivers. The 13cm Kevlar midrange is separated from the bass section, allowing it to concentrate on the vocal and instrumental frequencies where clarity and tonal consistency are especially important.
DEDICATED 13CM WOOFER & FRONT PORT
A dedicated 13cm woofer handles low frequencies and works with a front-facing laminar bass-reflex port. Davis specifies extension down to 45Hz at ±3dB. The front port also reduces dependence on large clearance behind the cabinet, making the Krypton 6 easier to integrate into compact living rooms than many rear-ported floorstanders.
28MM REAR-VENTED SOFT-DOME TWEETER
High frequencies are handled by a 28mm soft fabric dome with a rear decompression chamber. The chamber is designed to manage energy behind the diaphragm and reduce unwanted interaction with the tweeter dome, while the crossover transitions from the midrange at 4kHz.
91DB SENSITIVITY & FLEXIBLE AMPLIFIER MATCHING
The Krypton 6 is rated at 91dB sensitivity with 100W nominal and 150W maximum power handling. Davis specifies a 4–8Ω impedance range, making the speaker suitable for a broad selection of quality integrated and power amplifiers when properly matched.
COMPACT DESIGN FOR 15–30M² ROOMS
At 89cm tall and just 16cm wide, the Krypton 6 offers true 3-way operation without occupying the space of a conventional large floorstander. The supplied base tilts the cabinet slightly backwards to improve driver alignment. Explore more Davis Acoustics speakers, or step up to the Davis Acoustics Krypton 9 for greater bass capability and higher output.
