FOSI AUDIO SP601 BOOKSHELF SPEAKERS
The Fosi Audio SP601 is a two-way passive bookshelf loudspeaker developed for compact stereo and desktop Hi-Fi systems. Sold as a pair, it combines a 6.5 inch HybridCone mid/bass driver with a 1.5 inch silk-dome tweeter in a rear-ported bass-reflex enclosure.
6.5 INCH HYBRIDCONE WOOFER
The SP601 uses Fosi Audio's in-house HybridCone woofer, combining a paper inner cone with an aluminium-alloy outer layer. The composite construction is designed to combine the damping properties of paper with additional cone rigidity, while the 6.5 inch driver provides the radiating area required for useful bass extension from a compact standmount enclosure.
1.5 INCH SILK-DOME TWEETER
High frequencies are reproduced by a 1.5 inch silk-dome tweeter mounted in a precision-cast aluminium waveguide. The waveguide controls dispersion around the crossover region and helps integrate the tweeter with the larger mid/bass driver across the listening area.
REAR-PORTED BASS-REFLEX CABINET
The two-way enclosure uses a rear-firing bass-reflex port to extend low-frequency output. Fosi Audio specifies a frequency response from 44Hz to 20kHz, while the cabinet's removable magnetic grille allows the SP601 to be used with either an exposed or covered front baffle.
80W RMS POWER HANDLING
The SP601 is rated for 80W RMS and 160W peak input power, with a nominal 4Ω impedance. This makes amplifier compatibility an important consideration: the partnering amplifier should be designed to operate reliably into 4Ω loudspeaker loads and provide adequate clean power for the intended room size and listening level.
FLEXIBLE SPEAKER CONNECTIONS
Rear binding posts accept conventional speaker cable connections, including banana plugs and bare wire. The SP601 can therefore be integrated easily with compact Fosi Audio amplifiers or other stereo amplifiers capable of driving a 4Ω passive loudspeaker.
