MATRIX AUDIO NT-1 NETWORK TRANSPORT

The Matrix Audio NT-1 is a reference-level network music transport designed for high-end audio systems built around a dedicated external DAC. Combining advanced MA Player streaming software, precision dual-mode clocking, galvanically isolated digital outputs and a fully linear power supply, it provides an exceptionally flexible digital source platform.

PRECISION CLOCKING WITH 10MHZ EXTERNAL REFERENCE

The NT-1 features an advanced clock architecture combining a femtosecond oscillator with a low-noise RF synthesiser. In internal mode, the oscillator provides the timing reference. An external 10MHz clock can also be connected through the dedicated 50-ohm input for synchronised clock operation.

This dual-mode design allows integration with compatible reference clocks, providing additional flexibility for carefully configured high-end digital systems.

ISOLATED USB, I²S AND PROFESSIONAL DIGITAL OUTPUTS

A dedicated electrically isolated USB DAC output separates the connected DAC from unwanted ground-related interference. It supports PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD512, subject to the capabilities of the external DAC.

An HDMI-style I²S LVDS interface also supports PCM up to 768kHz and native DSD512, with four selectable pin configurations. Balanced AES/EBU, coaxial and optical outputs provide additional connection options for compatible converters.

FULL LINEAR POWER SUPPLY

The NT-1 uses an internal linear power supply built around a 60W toroidal transformer and multiple low-noise regulators. Separate transformer windings supply the main digital processing section and the dedicated USB audio interface.

This architecture is designed to reduce electrical interference between sensitive circuits and support stable operation without requiring an external power supply.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE WIRED NETWORKING

A Gigabit Ethernet interface and an SFP network slot provide flexible wired connectivity. The SFP interface can accommodate compatible optical fibre or Ethernet modules, allowing the NT-1 to be integrated into advanced home networks.

Network music playback is managed through Matrix Audio's MA Player platform and MA Remote app. Roon Ready, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2 and DLNA/UPnP provide access to a broad range of listening options.

EXPANDABLE MUSIC LIBRARY AND CD PLAYBACK

An internal M.2 NVMe SSD slot allows compatible storage to be installed for a local high-resolution music library. Two USB 3.0 connections support external storage and compatible optical drives.

The NT-1 also supports music-library sharing over SMB and can be used with suitable USB CD drives for playback and disc-ripping functions.

TOUCHSCREEN CONTROL AND SYSTEM INTEGRATION

The integrated colour touchscreen provides album artwork, playback information and access to essential system functions. The MA Remote application offers additional music browsing, library management and device settings.

Trigger input and output connections enable coordinated operation with compatible audio equipment. Digital volume adjustment is available for suitable downstream systems.

DESIGNED FOR REFERENCE DAC SYSTEMS

The NT-1 is a pure digital transport. It does not contain a DAC, analogue line outputs or a headphone amplifier. A compatible external digital-to-analogue converter is required for conventional analogue Hi-Fi playback.

Its combination of precision clocking, isolated outputs, wired network connectivity and linear power regulation makes it an excellent foundation for a dedicated reference digital audio system.
