Choose the Arcas for upgraded OCXO clocking, enhanced digital isolation and additional I²S and AES/EBU outputs.
The Denafrips Arce is a dedicated high-fidelity network streamer designed to deliver digital audio to an external DAC. Developed around Denafrips' proprietary streaming platform, it combines a Quad-Core ARM Cortex processor, FPGA signal processing, precision clocking and an internal linear power supply. Unlike all-in-one streaming DACs, Arce focuses on digital transport functionality without incorporating a digital-to-analogue conversion stage.
At the heart of Arce is an in-house developed streaming module running a tailored operating system. The platform supports Roon Bridge, HQPlayer NAA, AirPlay and DLNA, making it suitable for network-based music playback through compatible applications and servers.
Local music libraries can also be accessed from USB storage, SD cards and network-attached storage (NAS). An Ethernet connection provides direct integration with the home network.
Arce employs proprietary FPGA processing with adaptive FIFO buffering and precision FEMTO clocking. Incoming audio data is buffered and reclocked using the streamer's internal timing reference, reducing reliance on the timing accuracy of the network source.
Optocoupler-based galvanic isolation helps limit the transfer of unwanted electrical interference between processing sections, supporting clean digital signal transmission to the connected DAC.
Four conventional digital audio outputs are available: HDMI-style I²S, AES/EBU, coaxial S/PDIF and Toslink optical. A USB audio output is also supported through updated firmware, providing additional connectivity for compatible USB DACs.
The I²S interface supports selectable pin assignments, making it possible to configure the streamer for different compatible DACs. The HDMI-style connector carries digital audio rather than conventional HDMI video signals.
Arce also incorporates dual BNC external clock inputs supporting 45.1548MHz and 49.152MHz signals. These allow synchronisation with compatible external master clocks or Denafrips DACs equipped with suitable clock outputs.
A shielded 60VA O-Core transformer supplies the multi-stage linear power architecture. Carefully selected low-noise regulators provide stable power to the streaming processor, clock circuitry and digital output stages.
The compact anodised aluminium chassis is available in Black and Silver. Its internal power supply and 215mm-wide enclosure make Arce suitable for dedicated stereo systems without requiring a full-width component.
Arce is particularly suitable for systems using an external DAC with I²S, AES/EBU, coaxial or optical connectivity. Compatible Denafrips models such as the Ares 15th and Pontus 15th are natural partners, while other DAC brands can also be connected using the appropriate digital interface.
For systems requiring more advanced internal clocking and expanded digital outputs, the Denafrips Arcas provides a higher-tier alternative within the same streaming range.
