Matrix Audio Mini-i 4 Network Streamer & DAC

MATRIX AUDIO MINI-I 4 NETWORK STREAMER & DAC

The Matrix Audio mini-i 4 combines a high-resolution network streamer, ESS Sabre DAC and adjustable-output preamplifier in one compact component. With Roon Ready playback, HDMI ARC connectivity, a 3.46-inch touchscreen and balanced XLR outputs, it provides a versatile digital music source for modern stereo systems.

ESS ES9039Q2M DIGITAL-TO-ANALOGUE CONVERSION

The mini-i 4 features the ESS ES9039Q2M DAC, using the advanced HyperStream IV architecture. Carefully engineered analogue circuitry provides low distortion, excellent channel separation and balanced stereo output.

USB audio playback supports PCM up to 24-bit/768kHz and native DSD512, allowing the mini-i 4 to work with compatible high-resolution music sources and computers.

ROON READY NETWORK STREAMING

Matrix Audio's MA Player platform provides access to network music libraries and online streaming services. The mini-i 4 supports Roon Ready, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, DLNA/UPnP and other compatible playback protocols.

Through the MA Remote app, listeners can explore music from TIDAL, Qobuz and HIGHRESAUDIO, manage playback and access internet radio services including vTuner and Radio Paradise. Gigabit Ethernet provides a stable wired connection for high-resolution network audio.

HDMI ARC FOR TV AUDIO

A dedicated HDMI ARC input connects the mini-i 4 to a compatible television or projector, allowing TV sound to be reproduced through a connected stereo system. HDMI CEC functionality supports convenient power and volume integration with compatible displays.

Additional USB-B, coaxial and optical digital inputs accommodate computers, CD transports and other digital audio sources.

ANALOGUE INPUT AND BALANCED PREAMPLIFIER OUTPUTS

In addition to its digital connectivity, the mini-i 4 includes a stereo RCA analogue input for an external line-level source. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs can feed compatible integrated amplifiers, power amplifiers or active loudspeakers.

Adjustable volume provides convenient preamplifier-style operation, making the mini-i 4 a practical control centre for a compact stereo system.

3.46-INCH TOUCHSCREEN AND MA REMOTE

The colour touchscreen displays album artwork, track information, input selection and playback status. Touch-sensitive controls provide convenient adjustment, while the MA Remote app offers detailed music browsing and system configuration from a compatible mobile device.

The optional Matrix Audio RM5 remote control is available separately. The mini-i 4 does not incorporate a headphone amplifier, Bluetooth receiver or Wi-Fi connection.

LOCAL MUSIC AND COMPACT SYSTEM INTEGRATION

Music can be played from compatible USB storage devices connected to the USB-C port or from network-attached storage. The MA Player library organises supported local files for convenient browsing.

Measuring just 224mm wide, the mini-i 4 is particularly suitable for desktop audio systems and space-conscious Hi-Fi installations where a separate streamer, DAC and basic preamplifier would otherwise require several components.
