DUAL ESS DACs AND MASTER EDITION ANALOGUE CIRCUITRY

Two ESS ES9038Q2M DAC chips independently handle left- and right-channel conversion. The Master Edition features an upgraded analogue signal path incorporating premium operational amplifiers, including an OPA1612-based current-to-voltage conversion stage, designed to minimise noise and distortion.

Its balanced architecture provides stereo XLR and RCA outputs, with manufacturer-specified dynamic range exceeding 128dB through XLR and THD+N below 0.00009%.

PRECISION CLOCKING AND LINEAR POWER SUPPLY

The Master Edition employs upgraded low-jitter clock oscillators to support accurate digital timing. A new low-noise linear power supply, with specified noise below 40µV, provides stable power for the sensitive audio circuitry.

HDMI ARC enables stereo audio from a compatible television, while USB-B, optical, coaxial and Bluetooth inputs accommodate additional digital sources. An XMOS XU316 interface supports PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD512.

The DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 can also operate as a digital transport, providing USB audio, coaxial, optical and HDMI multichannel audio outputs for compatible external equipment. The HDMI audio output is not an I²S connection.

6-INCH TOUCHSCREEN AND EXPANDABLE STORAGE

The 6-inch colour touchscreen provides album artwork, music browsing, playback information and customisable VU meters. The Master Edition adds distinctive configurable RGB illumination around the front-panel volume control.

An accessible M.2 NVMe SSD slot supports compatible drives up to 8TB, allowing a large local music library to be stored inside the player. External USB and network storage provide further expansion options. An SSD is not included.

FLEXIBLE HI-FI SYSTEM INTEGRATION

Balanced XLR and RCA analogue outputs offer adjustable volume for use with compatible integrated amplifiers, power amplifiers and active loudspeakers. A 12V trigger output supports coordinated system power control, while Wake-on-LAN adds convenient activation over a wired network.
