DUAL ESS ES9068AS DAC ARCHITECTURE

The DAC-Z6 uses two ESS ES9068AS converters, with independent conversion for the left and right channels. Its balanced analogue architecture is designed to provide low distortion, precise stereo imaging and strong channel separation.

The manufacturer specifies a 125dB signal-to-noise ratio through the balanced XLR outputs, alongside a dynamic range of 125dB and low total harmonic distortion.

XMOS XU316 HIGH-RESOLUTION USB AUDIO

USB-B and USB-C digital inputs allow the DAC-Z6 to connect to compatible computers, smartphones and digital audio sources. Its XMOS XU316 interface supports PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD512, with MQA decoding supported by the original hardware.

BALANCED ANALOGUE OUTPUTS & VOLUME CONTROL

The DAC-Z6 provides balanced stereo XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs for connection to integrated amplifiers, power amplifiers and active loudspeakers. Adjustable output volume also allows the unit to operate as a DAC and preamplifier in compatible systems.

Its balanced analogue circuitry provides a manufacturer-specified 4.1Vrms maximum XLR output and 2.1Vrms RCA output.

BUILT-IN HEADPHONE AMPLIFIER

A front-panel 6.35mm headphone output provides convenient personal listening. Two selectable gain settings accommodate headphones with different sensitivities and impedances, with a recommended operating range of 16 to 300 ohms.
