FOSI AUDIO Q5 DAC
The Fosi Audio Q5 is a compact desktop DAC and headphone amplifier designed for computers, TVs, digital transports and other digital audio sources. It combines USB, optical and coaxial digital inputs with stereo RCA output and two front-panel headphone outputs, making it suitable for both desktop headphone listening and conventional Hi-Fi systems.
ESS ES9018K2M DAC
Digital-to-analogue conversion is handled by an ESS ES9018K2M DAC chipset. The Q5 supports PCM playback up to 24-bit / 192kHz and can receive digital audio through USB-B, optical Toslink or coaxial S/PDIF.
DEDICATED HEADPHONE AMPLIFICATION
The headphone section uses a TPA6120A2 amplifier stage together with dedicated operational amplifiers. Fosi Audio specifies up to 400mW output at 32Ω and compatibility with headphones from 16Ω to 250Ω, providing a practical all-in-one solution for many desktop headphone systems.
DUAL HEADPHONE OUTPUTS
Both 3.5mm and 6.35mm headphone outputs are available on the front panel, eliminating the need for a separate adapter for commonly used headphone plugs. The large central volume control adjusts the analogue output level, while the front selector provides straightforward power and input control.
RCA OUTPUT FOR STEREO SYSTEMS
A stereo RCA output allows the Q5 to feed an integrated amplifier, power amplifier or active loudspeaker system. This makes the Q5 useful not only as a headphone DAC, but also as a compact digital front end for a traditional stereo setup.
