GUSTARD R30 R-2R DAC

The Gustard R30 is a flagship fully discrete R-2R DAC and network streamer built for high-end digital systems. It combines Gustard's proprietary 27-bit resistor-ladder conversion architecture with a dedicated native 1-bit DSD path, integrated Ethernet streaming, extensive digital connectivity and a fully discrete Class A analogue output stage.

QUAD-MODULE DISCRETE R-2R ARCHITECTURE

The R30 uses four discrete 27-bit R-2R conversion modules in a fully balanced architecture. PCM playback can operate through three proprietary digital filters or in NOS mode, allowing users to choose between oversampled and non-oversampled operation. DSD is handled separately through a true 1-bit decoding path rather than being converted to PCM first.

NETWORK STREAMING & DIGITAL CONNECTIVITY

The integrated Ethernet network bridge supports Roon Bridge, AirPlay, UPnP/DLNA, HQPlayer NAA and Spotify Connect. Digital inputs include USB, AES/EBU, coaxial, optical and two HDMI-format I²S connections. The configurable I²S input supports PCM up to 32-bit / 1536kHz and Native DSD1024, while USB and network playback support PCM up to 768kHz and Native DSD512.

OCXO CLOCKING & EXTERNAL 10MHZ INPUT

Timing is managed by an SC-Cut oven-controlled crystal oscillator working together with Gustard's GCLK-02 low-noise clock synthesizer. A 50Ω BNC input also allows the R30 to use a compatible external 10MHz reference clock where required.

DISCRETE CLASS A ANALOGUE OUTPUT

The analogue stage is fully discrete and operates in Class A, with no op-amps in the main signal path. Balanced XLR and single-ended RCA outputs can operate at fixed level or through the internal relay-based volume control, allowing the R30 to function as either a conventional DAC or a variable-output digital source.
