DAVIS ACOUSTICS KRYPTON 10 FLOORSTANDING SPEAKERS
The Davis Acoustics Krypton 10 is the flagship floorstanding model in the Krypton range, designed for larger listening rooms and high-quality stereo systems. Its 3-way architecture combines two 21cm cellulose-pulp woofers, a dedicated 13cm Kevlar midrange and a 28mm soft-dome tweeter, giving each section of the frequency range its own dedicated driver.
KRYPTON 10 3-WAY DRIVER ARCHITECTURE
The dedicated 13cm Kevlar midrange handles the critical vocal and instrumental region between the bass and treble sections. This reduces the workload on the larger woofers and allows the tweeter to concentrate on the upper frequencies. Davis uses the same 28mm rear-decompressed soft-dome tweeter platform across the Krypton range for consistent high-frequency integration.
DUAL 21CM CELLULOSE WOOFERS
Two 21cm treated cellulose-pulp woofers are connected in parallel and loaded by a front-facing laminar bass-reflex port. The larger radiating area gives the Krypton 10 significantly more low-frequency capability than the smaller models in the series, with Davis specifying extension down to 32Hz at ±3dB.
93.5DB SENSITIVITY & LARGE-ROOM CAPABILITY
With 93.5dB sensitivity and a stated 4–8Ω impedance range, the Krypton 10 is designed to achieve strong output without demanding extreme amplifier power. Davis rates the speaker at 175W nominal and 250W maximum, making it suitable for quality integrated and power amplifiers in larger spaces.
FRONT BASS-REFLEX & PRACTICAL PLACEMENT
The front laminar port makes room integration more flexible than many rear-ported floorstanders, particularly where placement near the rear wall is unavoidable. The cabinet also uses the slightly rearward-tilted plinth seen across the Krypton floorstanding range, helping vertically align the tweeter and midrange acoustic centres.
