DAVIS ACOUSTICS COURBET 3 S2 BOOKSHELF SPEAKERS

The Davis Acoustics Courbet 3 S2 is a premium two-way bookshelf loudspeaker designed and manufactured in France. The second-generation Courbet combines a 13cm Kevlar mid/bass driver, an improved 28mm soft-dome tweeter and carefully refined cabinet construction to deliver balanced, detailed sound from a compact enclosure.

13CM KEVLAR MID/BASS DRIVER

Each Courbet 3 S2 uses a 13cm woven Kevlar mid/bass driver, a material closely associated with Davis Acoustics loudspeaker engineering.

The rigid, lightweight cone contributes to controlled midrange reproduction and well-defined bass performance. Its compact two-way configuration is designed to reproduce voices and acoustic instruments naturally while retaining clarity during complex musical passages.

IMPROVED 28MM SOFT-DOME TWEETER

The new Courbet S2 generation features a 28mm textile soft-dome tweeter with revised rear damping to reduce unwanted distortion.

This updated high-frequency unit provides detailed treble reproduction without requiring an aggressively forward presentation. A crossover frequency of 3,500Hz integrates the tweeter with the Kevlar mid/bass driver.

REFINED BASS-REFLEX CABINET

A rear-facing circular bass-reflex port supports low-frequency output within the compact enclosure. With a specified frequency response of 55Hz–20kHz (±3dB), the Courbet 3 S2 is suitable for high-quality stereo listening in smaller and medium-sized spaces.

The cabinet features a slight backward tilt, rounded vertical edges and an acoustically considered shape intended to reduce internal standing waves.

PREMIUM S2 DESIGN AND FINISHES

The redesigned front grille sits flush within the cabinet rather than projecting beyond its surface. Rounded grille corners complement the curved cabinet edges, creating an understated contemporary appearance.

A protective foam layer beneath each cabinet provides additional grip and helps protect furniture and speaker stands from scratches.

The Courbet 3 S2 is available in four lacquered finishes: Black, White, Gunmetal Grey and Orange.

EASY INTEGRATION WITH QUALITY AMPLIFICATION

With 90dB sensitivity and 8Ω nominal impedance, the Courbet 3 S2 can be partnered with a broad range of suitable solid-state and vacuum tube amplifiers.

Its minimum impedance of 4.2Ω should be considered when selecting amplification. Stable speaker stands, appropriate listening height and careful rear-wall placement will help achieve balanced imaging and low-frequency response.
