Pair EX-B7 amplification with Courbet NΒ°8's carbon woofer and Kevlar midrange for a refined, full-scale stereo system.
The Kinki Studio EX-B7 is a high-performance Class AB monoblock power amplifier designed for demanding high-end stereo systems. Supplied as a matched pair, the EX-B7 combines substantial output power, wide-bandwidth circuitry and premium discrete components to deliver exceptional control, precision and dynamic capability.
Each EX-B7 monoblock delivers 250W RMS into 8 ohms and 380W RMS into 4 ohms, providing ample power for a wide range of compatible high-performance loudspeakers.
With each amplifier dedicated to one channel, the monoblock configuration provides independent amplification and power-supply resources for the left and right loudspeakers. Instantaneous power capability reaches a manufacturer-specified 400W into 8 ohms.
The output stage employs four complementary pairs of EXICON lateral MOSFET transistors per monoblock. These high-performance devices are integrated into a fully discrete, wide-bandwidth amplification circuit.
The direct-coupled signal architecture eliminates conventional coupling capacitors from the main signal path, supporting a remarkably wide manufacturer-specified frequency response extending to 2.5MHz at -3dB.
Each EX-B7 incorporates a substantial 750VA toroidal power transformer and a high-capacity capacitor reservoir. This robust power architecture supports demanding musical transients and stable operation with compatible loudspeaker loads.
The amplifier's circuit boards feature gold-plated conductive traces, while careful internal component placement and substantial heatsinking contribute to dependable operation.
Each monoblock provides one balanced XLR input and one unbalanced RCA input, allowing connection to compatible stereo preamplifiers, DACs with volume control and other suitable analogue sources.
The input sensitivity of 1.45Vrms and nominal 51kΞ© input impedance facilitate integration with a wide range of preamplifiers. Speaker connections use heavy-duty binding posts compatible with suitable loudspeaker cables.
The updated EX-B7 design incorporates dedicated protection and control circuitry separated from the main analogue signal stages. A speaker-protection circuit monitors potentially harmful DC conditions at the output and disconnects the loudspeaker when required.
This architecture combines high-performance amplification with practical protection for valuable loudspeakers.
Each 17kg amplifier features a substantial metal chassis measuring 230 Γ 330 Γ 190mm. The compact monoblock format allows flexible placement close to each loudspeaker, potentially reducing the required speaker-cable length.
The EX-B7 pair is particularly well suited to ambitious stereo systems built around a high-quality balanced preamplifier and premium floorstanding loudspeakers.
