GUSTARD U26 DIGITAL INTERFACE

The Gustard U26 is a high-performance digital-to-digital converter designed to improve the connection between a computer or USB audio source and an external DAC. It accepts USB audio and converts it to multiple dedicated digital outputs, including configurable I²S, AES/EBU, coaxial and optical, giving users a flexible way to optimise digital signal transmission without replacing their DAC.

ISOLATED AMANERO USB ARCHITECTURE

The U26 uses a custom USB implementation developed around Amanero technology and an ARM Cortex-M7 processor. A high-speed USB isolation stage separates the incoming USB connection from the internal digital circuitry, while dedicated linear power regulation and a toroidal transformer provide independent power sections for critical circuits.

I²S UP TO PCM 1536KHZ & DSD2048

For DACs equipped with compatible HDMI-format I²S inputs, the U26 supports PCM up to 32-bit / 1536kHz and native DSD up to DSD2048. A configurable I²S output is provided alongside a dedicated Gustard-format I²S-G connection. AES/EBU and coaxial outputs support PCM up to 24-bit / 384kHz, while optical supports up to 24-bit / 192kHz.

PRECISION CLOCKING

Internal precision clocking and Gustard's K2 PLL architecture are used to manage timing and reduce jitter before the digital signal reaches the connected DAC. A 50Ω 10MHz BNC clock input also allows the U26 to operate from a compatible external master clock when required.

FLEXIBLE DIGITAL SYSTEM INTEGRATION

The U26 provides simultaneous access to I²S, AES/EBU, BNC coaxial, RCA coaxial and optical digital connections, making it useful with a wide range of DAC architectures and system configurations. It is particularly relevant for computer-audio systems where USB isolation, reclocking or conversion to I²S or AES/EBU is desired.
