CAYIN CS-88A TUBE INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER

The Cayin CS-88A is a high-end vacuum tube integrated amplifier combining traditional point-to-point construction with versatile operating modes and practical analogue connectivity. Featuring four KT88 output tubes, an integrated MM phono stage and a dedicated power amplifier input, it provides a complete amplification solution for demanding two-channel Hi-Fi systems.

KT88 CLASS AB1 PUSH-PULL AMPLIFICATION

The CS-88A uses four KT88 output tubes in a Class AB1 push-pull configuration, supported by two 6SL7 voltage amplification tubes and two 6SN7 driver tubes.

Two wide-bandwidth EI output transformers and a specially designed toroidal power transformer provide the foundation for the amplifier's analogue circuitry. Hand-wired point-to-point construction and thickly silver-plated internal signal wiring reflect Cayin's established approach to high-quality valve amplification.

SELECTABLE TRIODE AND ULTRALINEAR OPERATION

Two selectable operating modes allow the CS-88A to adapt its amplification characteristics to different listening preferences and loudspeaker requirements.

Ultralinear mode delivers 48W + 48W RMS, providing greater available output power and headroom. Triode mode delivers 27W + 27W RMS, offering an alternative output-stage configuration with different harmonic and operating characteristics.

A rear-panel tube selection switch also accommodates compatible EL34 output tubes, providing additional flexibility for users familiar with vacuum tube replacement and bias adjustment.

INTEGRATED MM PHONO STAGE

A dedicated moving-magnet phono input allows a compatible turntable to connect directly to the CS-88A without an additional external phono preamplifier.

The phono stage provides 40dB gain, 47kΩ input impedance and RIAA equalization accuracy within ±0.25dB. Two additional stereo RCA line inputs accommodate external DACs, CD players, music streamers and other line-level sources.

DEDICATED POWER AMPLIFIER MODE

The CS-88A includes a PRE-IN connection that allows it to operate as a dedicated stereo power amplifier with a compatible external preamplifier. This makes it suitable for systems that may evolve from a conventional integrated amplifier arrangement to a separate preamplifier configuration.

Dedicated 4Ω and 8Ω speaker terminals support appropriate loudspeaker matching, while the supplied infrared remote provides convenient control of volume, input selection and amplifier operating mode.

PRECISION BIAS CONTROL AND HANDCRAFTED DESIGN

External bias adjustment controls and an integrated analogue bias meter allow individual monitoring and adjustment of the four output tubes according to Cayin's instructions.

A Japanese ALPS motorised volume potentiometer provides precise analogue level adjustment. Additional features include an approximately 30-second soft-start circuit, operating-state memory and a removable protective tube cover.
