DAVIS ACOUSTICS ARIANE 2 BOOKSHELF SPEAKERS

The Davis Acoustics Ariane 2 is a compact 2-way bookshelf loudspeaker designed for stereo systems where straightforward amplifier matching, useful bass extension and a balanced presentation are priorities. It combines a 17cm woven fiberglass mid/bass driver with a 20mm soft paper-dome tweeter in a rear-ported cabinet, offering a practical entry point into the Davis Acoustics range.

17CM FIBERGLASS MID/BASS DRIVER

A 17cm woven fiberglass driver handles the bass and midrange. The cone is designed to combine low mass with sufficient rigidity, while a central dispersion element helps control radiation through the upper part of its operating range. Davis Acoustics specifies a frequency response extending down to 48Hz, giving the Ariane 2 useful low-frequency reach for a compact standmount speaker.

SOFT PAPER-DOME TWEETER

High frequencies are reproduced by a 20mm soft cellulose-dome tweeter. Davis developed the Ariane 2 around a deliberately linear sensitivity curve rather than emphasizing a particular frequency region, with the goal of maintaining an even tonal balance over longer listening sessions.

90DB SENSITIVITY & FLEXIBLE AMPLIFIER MATCHING

With 90dB sensitivity and a minimum impedance of 5Ω, the Ariane 2 is relatively undemanding compared with many compact loudspeakers. Davis specifies 90W nominal and 120W maximum power handling, making it suitable for a broad range of integrated and power amplifiers when used within sensible listening levels.

REAR-PORTED COMPACT CABINET

The cabinet uses a rear bass-reflex port and supplied anti-slip supports that give the speaker a slight backward tilt. This geometry helps align the acoustic origin of the two drivers vertically. Because the port vents to the rear, leaving some space behind the loudspeaker is preferable to placing it directly against the wall.
