TOPPING E30 II DAC

The Topping E30 II is a compact digital-to-analogue converter and digital preamplifier designed for desktop audio and conventional stereo systems. Featuring dual AKM AK4493S DAC chips, an XMOS USB interface and a low-noise power supply design, it provides high-resolution digital playback with simple RCA connectivity.

DUAL AK4493S VELVET SOUND CONVERSION

The E30 II uses two AKM AK4493S converter chips incorporating the manufacturer's VELVET SOUND technology. This dual-DAC architecture improves on the original E30 platform while maintaining a compact form factor.

Topping specifies a 123dB signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range, with THD+N below 0.00015% under its published measurement conditions. A discrete Low Noise Reference Driver (LNRD) circuit helps reduce noise from the external 5V power supply.

PCM768 & DSD512 VIA USB

An XMOS XU208 USB interface supports PCM playback up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD512, subject to compatible playback software and source equipment.

Coaxial S/PDIF and Toslink optical inputs allow additional digital sources such as CD transports, televisions and network streamers to be connected. The E30 II does not incorporate Bluetooth, network streaming or HDMI inputs.

PURE DAC & PREAMPLIFIER MODES

The E30 II can operate in fixed-level Pure DAC mode or variable-output preamplifier mode. Its stereo RCA outputs provide a nominal 2.1Vrms signal at full level and can connect to integrated amplifiers, headphone amplifiers, active loudspeakers and other suitable line-level equipment.

Digital volume adjustment is available in preamplifier mode, while the supplied remote control provides convenient operation from the listening position.

SIX DIGITAL FILTERS & COMPACT DESIGN

Six selectable PCM digital filters provide different reconstruction responses, including Sharp, Slow and short-delay options. The front-panel LED display indicates the selected input, sampling rate and operating status.

The aluminium enclosure measures just 125mm wide and can be positioned conveniently alongside compact amplifiers or desktop audio equipment. A separate 5V DC connection supplies power independently of the USB data input.
