The Topping A900 is a flagship fully balanced analogue headphone amplifier and preamplifier designed for demanding desktop listening and high-performance stereo systems. T'ANG-KU-LA AMPLIFICATION ARCHITECTURE

The A900 incorporates three T'ang-ku-la modules within a six-channel fully balanced differential architecture. Its three-stage feedback circuit is engineered to maintain low distortion and accurate signal amplification across a wide range of operating levels.

The balanced headphone path achieves a manufacturer-specified 151dB signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range. The dedicated analogue design makes the A900 suitable for pairing with premium external DACs without introducing unnecessary digital conversion circuitry.

UP TO 22W BALANCED HEADPHONE POWER

The balanced headphone outputs deliver up to 22,000mW per channel into 16Ω and 14,000mW into 32Ω under the manufacturer's specified test conditions. This provides substantial power reserves for compatible full-size headphones, including demanding planar magnetic models.

Single-ended operation is also supported, with up to 6,000mW per channel into 16Ω. Three selectable gain levels allow the amplifier to accommodate headphones with different sensitivities and power requirements.

MULTIPLE HEADPHONE CONNECTIONS

The A900 offers an unusually comprehensive headphone output arrangement, including dual 6.35mm sockets, dual 4.4mm balanced outputs, two four-pin XLR connectors and an additional three-pin XLR stereo headphone connection.

These output options simplify integration with a variety of headphone cables and listening setups. The amplifier should be operated within the manufacturer's supported headphone impedance range.

THREE BALANCED INPUTS & PREAMPLIFIER OUTPUT

Three balanced XLR/6.35mm TRS combination inputs allow connection of multiple analogue sources, such as dedicated DACs and compatible music players. A balanced XLR stereo preamplifier output can feed an external power amplifier or active loudspeakers.

The preamplifier section offers selectable gain settings and extremely low measured noise, allowing the A900 to serve as an analogue control centre for a headphone and speaker system. It does not include a built-in DAC, digital audio inputs or network streaming.

REMOTE CONTROL & CUSTOMISABLE DISPLAY

A 2-inch colour display offers Normal, VU meter and FFT spectrum views. Front-panel touch controls, a multifunction volume knob and the included remote provide access to source selection, volume and operating settings.

Two user presets allow frequently used configurations to be recalled, while 12V trigger input and output connections support coordinated power switching with compatible equipment.
