FOSI AUDIO ZA3 POWER AMPLIFIER
The Fosi Audio ZA3 is a compact Class D power amplifier designed for flexible stereo and mono Hi-Fi systems. It combines a Texas Instruments TPA3255 output stage with balanced XLR/TRS and RCA inputs, selectable stereo/mono operation, active subwoofer output and 12V trigger control.
TPA3255 CLASS D AMPLIFICATION
At the heart of the ZA3 is the Texas Instruments TPA3255 Class D amplifier platform. Fosi Audio specifies an SNR of ≥106dB, dynamic range of ≥106dB and THD below 0.006%, with a frequency response of 20Hz–20kHz within ±0.1dB.
STEREO & HIGH-POWER MONO MODES
The ZA3 can operate as a conventional two-channel stereo amplifier or as a higher-power mono amplifier. With a 48V/5A power supply, Fosi Audio currently specifies up to 180W × 2 into 4Ω in stereo mode and 235W × 1 into 4Ω in mono mode. Two ZA3 units can therefore be used as a compact mono-amplifier pair.
BALANCED XLR / TRS & RCA INPUTS
A balanced combination input accepts both XLR and 6.35mm TRS connections, while stereo RCA provides compatibility with conventional unbalanced sources. The balanced input is particularly useful when pairing the ZA3 with DACs and preamplifiers equipped with XLR outputs.
SUBWOOFER OUTPUT & 12V TRIGGER
A dedicated RCA output allows connection of an active subwoofer for compact 2.1 systems. The 12V trigger input can synchronise power operation with a compatible DAC, streamer or preamplifier, reducing the need to switch individual components on and off manually.
SWAPPABLE OP-AMPS
The ZA3 also supports user-replaceable DIP8 operational amplifiers in several circuit positions. Compatible alternatives include models such as the Sparkos SS3602, MUSES02 and OPA2134PA, giving experienced users the option to experiment with different compatible op-amps.
