DENAFRIPS BIC500 POWER CONDITIONER

The Denafrips BIC500 is a 500VA balanced isolation power conditioner designed to provide filtered, transformer-isolated AC power to high-fidelity audio components. Featuring a custom-built balanced toroidal transformer, integrated AC filtering and surge suppression, it provides four grounded EU Schuko outlets for digital sources, DACs, preamplifiers and other compatible audio equipment.

500VA BALANCED ISOLATION TRANSFORMER

At the heart of the BIC500 is an audio-grade toroidal isolation transformer manufactured by Denafrips. Its balanced secondary winding uses a centre-tapped, earthed configuration to provide symmetrical AC voltages relative to the centre reference.

This balanced arrangement is designed to reduce common-mode interference carried by the mains supply. Transformer isolation can help limit the transfer of unwanted electrical noise into sensitive audio equipment, particularly in systems with several interconnected source components.

COPPER-SHIELDED TRANSFORMER DESIGN

The custom transformer uses Teflon-coated pure copper conductors and copper shielding. These construction details support electrical isolation and help reduce interference coupling between the mains input and output circuits.

Unlike a simple multi-outlet power distributor, the BIC500 incorporates a dedicated isolation transformer between the incoming mains supply and its connected audio components.

AC FILTERING & SURGE PROTECTION

Integrated AC filtering provides an additional stage of mains noise reduction, while built-in transient voltage surge suppressors help protect connected equipment against certain electrical disturbances.

A fused IEC power inlet provides the connection to the incoming mains supply. The BIC500 is a passive transformer-based conditioner, not an AC voltage regenerator or an uninterruptible power supply.

FOUR EU SCHUKO OUTLETS

The European BIC500 version provides four grounded Schuko power outlets with a combined rated capacity of 500VA. It is particularly suitable for network streamers, digital-to-digital converters, DACs and line preamplifiers.

A moderate-power Class A/B amplifier may also be used when its electrical requirements remain within the unit's limits. The combined load of all connected equipment must not exceed 500VA, and amplifier start-up current should also be considered.

COMPACT DESIGN FOR DEDICATED HI-FI SYSTEMS

The BIC500 measures 171 × 252 × 128mm, excluding feet, and weighs 9.5kg. Its substantial construction houses the isolation transformer in a relatively compact enclosure with a Black body and a choice of Black or Silver front panel.
