LHY AUDIO SW-6 NETWORK SWITCH

The LHY Audio SW-6 is a dedicated audiophile Gigabit Ethernet switch developed for high-quality digital music systems. Combining multiple RJ45 network connections, SFP optical connectivity, high-precision OCXO clocking and an integrated linear power supply, it was designed to provide a carefully engineered networking foundation for music streamers, servers and Ethernet-enabled digital audio components.

FIVE GIGABIT RJ45 CONNECTIONS

The SW-6 provides four conventional Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet ports and one additional RJ45 connection with dedicated transformer isolation. All five support standard 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet operation.

This configuration allows a router, music server, NAS and compatible network audio devices to be connected through a common Gigabit network. The isolated port is intended to reduce the transfer of certain conducted electrical disturbances between connected equipment.

SFP OPTICAL NETWORK INTERFACE

A separate Gigabit SFP interface enables fibre-optic networking with compatible equipment. When the correct optical transceiver and fibre cable are installed, an optical connection can break the direct conductive Ethernet path between network devices.

The SFP interface is designed for Gigabit optical networking, not 10GbE operation. Compatible SFP modules and fibre cabling are required for optical use.

SC-CUT OCXO CLOCK ARCHITECTURE

The SW-6 incorporates a high-quality SC-cut oven-controlled crystal oscillator supported by low-noise PLL circuitry. The oscillator provides a stable internal timing reference for the switch's network operation.

A dedicated 10MHz BNC input allows connection to a suitable external reference clock. The BNC connection is an input only and cannot provide a 10MHz reference output to an external DAC or digital transport.

INTEGRATED LINEAR POWER SUPPLY

The SW-6 uses an encapsulated Talema transformer, AC noise filtering, high-speed rectification and substantial reservoir capacitors. Its multistage power-regulation architecture was designed to provide stable DC supply rails to the internal network and clock circuitry.

The integrated power supply avoids the need for a separate external DC adapter.

CNC-MACHINED ALUMINIUM CHASSIS

The SW-6 features a substantial CNC-machined aluminium chassis with integrated heatsinking. Measuring 240 × 175 × 50mm and weighing approximately 2.05kg, it was designed for installation alongside high-quality digital audio components.
