CEN.GRAND 9I-90SA PRO DAC / HEADPHONE AMP
The Cen.Grand 9i-90SA Pro is a multifunction high-fidelity component combining a DAC, headphone amplifier and preamplifier in one compact chassis. It uses an ESS ES9038Pro DAC working in a two-channel parallel configuration, together with an isolated XMOS XU208 USB interface and FPGA digital processing.
ES9038PRO DAC WITH DSD512 USB
The digital section supports PCM up to 384kHz and native DSD512 over USB. Coaxial, optical and AES/EBU inputs support PCM up to 192kHz and DSD64 via DoP, making the 9i-90SA Pro suitable for computers, dedicated transports and other digital sources.
ISOLATED XMOS USB INTERFACE
Cen.Grand uses electrical isolation around the USB interface to reduce the transfer of unwanted electrical noise from a connected computer. The USB stage combines the second-generation XMOS XU208 interface with FPGA processing before the DAC section.
FOUR HEADPHONE OPERATING MODES
The headphone amplifier provides 6.35mm single-ended, 4-pin XLR balanced and 4.4mm balanced outputs. Four selectable operating modes — Normal, BTL, Active Ground and Parallel — allow the output configuration to be adapted to different headphone loads and system requirements.
BALANCED PREAMPLIFIER FUNCTION
The 9i-90SA Pro can also operate as an analogue preamplifier. It provides both RCA and XLR analogue inputs and matching RCA and XLR outputs, allowing connection to active loudspeakers or a separate power amplifier. Volume is controlled by a PGA2311 device across a range from -70dB to 0dB.
