CAYIN CS-100CD TUBE CD PLAYER & DAC

The Cayin CS-100CD is a high-end vacuum tube CD player combining dual Burr-Brown digital-to-analogue conversion with a fully balanced analogue output architecture. Designed for dedicated stereo Hi-Fi systems, it brings together conventional CD playback, vacuum tube output stages and digital input functionality in a substantial, carefully engineered chassis.

DUAL BURR-BROWN PCM1792A CONVERSION

Two Texas Instruments PCM1792A DAC chips form the digital conversion platform of the CS-100CD. The fully balanced architecture incorporates dedicated operational amplifiers for current-to-voltage conversion and low-pass filtering.

The integrated conversion circuitry allows the player to connect directly to compatible analogue amplifiers without requiring a separate external DAC.

FOUR 6922EH VACUUM TUBES

The analogue output stage employs four 6922EH vacuum tubes, with separate tube circuits for balanced XLR and single-ended RCA output connections.

A dedicated 12DT5 voltage regulation tube supports the valve audio circuitry, while selected audio-grade capacitors complete the analogue signal path.

This arrangement combines solid-state digital conversion with traditional vacuum tube analogue amplification.

CD PLAYBACK AND DIGITAL INPUTS

The CS-100CD supports conventional audio CDs and compatible CD-R discs, reproducing standard 16-bit/44.1kHz CD audio.

Optical Toslink and coaxial S/PDIF inputs allow compatible external digital sources to use the player's internal DAC, supporting PCM signals up to 24-bit/192kHz.

USB-equipped versions also provide asynchronous USB DAC functionality with support for high-resolution PCM up to 24-bit/192kHz, allowing connection to a compatible computer.

BALANCED ANALOGUE AND DIGITAL OUTPUTS

Dedicated stereo balanced XLR and single-ended RCA analogue outputs provide flexible integration with compatible integrated amplifiers and preamplifiers.

The CS-100CD also features optical, coaxial and AES/EBU digital outputs, allowing its CD transport section to feed an external digital-to-analogue converter when required.

This combination makes the player suitable both as a complete analogue CD source and as a dedicated digital transport.

INDEPENDENT POWER SUPPLIES AND PREMIUM CONSTRUCTION

Separate power supply sections for the digital and analogue circuitry help limit electrical interference between processing and amplification stages.

The substantial metal chassis features an aluminium front panel, front-loading disc mechanism, informative display and supplied infrared remote control.
