TOPPING B200 MONO POWER AMPLIFIER
The Topping B200 is a compact discrete mono power amplifier designed for high-fidelity stereo systems with separate amplification for each channel. Based on Topping's proprietary NFCA technology, it combines 200W output capability, exceptionally low measured distortion and balanced analogue connectivity in a rigid aluminium enclosure.
Each B200 amplifies one channel. Two units are required for conventional stereo playback, with a separate amplifier dedicated to each loudspeaker.
DISCRETE NFCA AMPLIFICATION
The B200 employs a discrete Nested Feedback Composite Amplifier (NFCA) circuit engineered to minimise noise and distortion. Its carefully controlled feedback architecture combines high output capability with precise signal amplification.
Topping specifies THD+N below 0.000075% at 5W into 8Ω and a dynamic range of 145dB under its published measurement conditions. The amplifier is designed to preserve low-level signal information while providing the power required by compatible passive loudspeakers.
200W MONOBLOCK PERFORMANCE
Each B200 delivers up to 200W into either 4Ω or 8Ω at the manufacturer's stated THD+N threshold of less than 1%. Its dedicated monoblock configuration provides independent amplification and power delivery for each speaker in a stereo system.
The amplifier is intended for passive loudspeakers with nominal impedance of 4Ω or higher. Speaker sensitivity, listening distance and available headroom should be considered when choosing suitable amplification.
THREE BALANCED INPUTS & SELECTABLE GAIN
Three balanced XLR/6.35mm TRS combination inputs allow connection to compatible analogue preamplifiers, DACs and other variable-level sources. Front-panel selection provides convenient switching between connected inputs.
Two voltage gain settings are available: 11.6dB and 22.0dB. These allow the amplifier to be matched to different source output levels and listening requirements.
The B200 does not include a conventional RCA input or integrated volume control. A suitable balanced preamplifier or variable-output DAC is recommended.
12V TRIGGER & EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY
A 12V trigger input enables automatic power switching from compatible source equipment. This simplifies operation when using two B200 amplifiers in a stereo installation.
Each amplifier includes a dedicated external 64V/4A switching power supply, keeping the main enclosure compact while providing the required electrical power.
FLEXIBLE STEREO SYSTEM INTEGRATION
A pair of B200 monoblocks can be combined with balanced preamplifiers or DACs featuring adjustable XLR outputs. The Topping D900 is a suitable digital source with variable balanced output, while the Denafrips Hestia 15th offers analogue source selection and relay-controlled volume adjustment.
The B200 is sold individually. For a complete two-channel stereo system, order two amplifiers and provide a suitable preamplifier or source with volume control.
