Connect the TT-1 via AES/EBU or a verified I²S configuration to enjoy discrete R-2R conversion in a balanced stereo system.
The Matrix Audio TT-1 is a dedicated high-resolution network streaming transport for audiophiles who prefer a separate DAC. Combining Matrix Audio's MA Player platform, precision femtosecond clocking and versatile digital outputs, it provides a sophisticated source for high-performance digital audio systems.
The TT-1 employs Matrix Audio's FPGA-assisted digital processing and dual low-phase-noise femtosecond clock oscillators. Separate clock references serve the 44.1kHz and 48kHz sampling-rate families, supported by independent low-noise regulation.
This architecture is designed to deliver stable digital timing when feeding compatible external DACs through the available digital interfaces.
A dedicated low-noise USB audio output supports PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512 with compatible external DACs. HDMI-style I²S LVDS offers the same maximum resolution, with four selectable pin configurations for supported equipment.
Balanced AES/EBU, coaxial and optical outputs provide further connection options, supporting PCM up to 24-bit/192kHz and DSD64 via DoP.
The TT-1 features Matrix Audio's MA Player platform and MA Remote application for music-library management, playback control and system configuration.
Roon Ready, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, Qobuz Connect, AirPlay 2 and DLNA/UPnP provide flexible access to online music and compatible network libraries. Gigabit Ethernet and dual-band Wi-Fi support network integration.
An internal M.2 NVMe SSD slot allows users to add compatible solid-state storage for a personal music library. Two USB 3.0 ports support external storage devices and compatible USB optical drives.
The TT-1 can access NAS libraries and share installed music storage over the network using SMB, making it a versatile digital source for systems with extensive local collections.
The TT-1 includes an internal universal-voltage switching power supply and a dedicated 12V DC input for a compatible external power supply.
When an external supply is connected, the device prioritises DC power and disconnects the internal AC supply path. This allows users to explore a compatible low-noise linear power supply as a future system upgrade.
The front-panel display provides playback information and direct access to system functions. The MA Remote application offers extended control from compatible smartphones and tablets.
Trigger input and output connections support coordinated operation with compatible Hi-Fi components. Digital volume control can also be enabled for suitable downstream equipment.
The TT-1 is a pure digital transport with no built-in DAC, analogue line outputs or headphone amplifier. It is an ideal partner for compatible high-performance DACs, including discrete R-2R and Delta-Sigma designs.
With comprehensive digital connectivity and expandable power and storage options, the TT-1 offers a flexible foundation for a dedicated digital playback system.
