GUSTARD R26 II R-2R DAC

The Gustard R26 II is a discrete R-2R DAC and network streamer designed as the digital centre of a high-performance stereo system. It combines Gustard's new 26-bit resistor-ladder architecture with wired network playback, extensive digital connectivity, Bluetooth 5.1 and variable balanced and single-ended analogue outputs.

26-BIT DISCRETE R-2R CONVERSION

At the heart of the R26 II is Gustard's discrete 26-bit R-2R conversion architecture. PCM can operate through the internal digital filtering system or in NOS mode, which bypasses the PCM filters and sends the original signal directly to the R-2R decoding matrix. A separate DSD Direct mode allows native DSD signals to use the dedicated 1-bit decoding architecture.

BUILT-IN NETWORK STREAMING

The integrated Ethernet streamer allows the R26 II to operate without a separate digital transport in many systems. Supported network protocols include Roon Bridge, AirPlay, UPnP, HQPlayer NAA and Spotify. Streaming settings and bridge firmware can be managed through the unit's browser-based network interface.

HIGH-RESOLUTION DIGITAL HUB

USB and network playback support PCM up to 32-bit / 768kHz and Native DSD512, while the HDMI-format I²S input extends support to PCM 1536kHz and Native DSD2048. AES/EBU, coaxial and optical inputs are also provided, together with Bluetooth 5.1 supporting LDAC, aptX HD and other common codecs.

PRECISION CLOCKING & VARIABLE OUTPUT

Gustard's GCLK-02 clock synthesizer manages the internal digital timing, while a 50Ω BNC input allows connection of an external 10MHz reference clock. Balanced XLR and RCA analogue outputs provide fixed or variable operation across a 90-step attenuation range, allowing the R26 II to feed a conventional preamplifier or connect directly to suitable power amplification.
