GUSTARD H26 HEADPHONE AMPLIFIER
The Gustard H26 is a fully balanced discrete Class A headphone amplifier and analogue preamplifier built for demanding desktop and full-size Hi-Fi systems. Its dual-mono architecture uses two 50W toroidal transformers and eight pairs of power transistors, providing substantial output capability together with balanced and single-ended connectivity.
FULLY BALANCED CLASS A DESIGN
The H26 uses independent amplification paths for the left and right channels and operates in Class A. Balanced headphone connections are available through both 4-pin XLR and 4.4mm outputs, while a 6.35mm connection is provided for conventional single-ended headphones. Low output impedance helps the H26 work with a wide range of headphone loads.
HIGH OUTPUT POWER
Gustard specifies up to 12W per channel into 32Ī© at 1% THD, with 7.35W into 64Ī©, 3.15W into 150Ī©, 1.58W into 300Ī© and 788mW into 600Ī©. This broad output range makes the H26 suitable for demanding planar magnetic headphones as well as higher-impedance dynamic designs.
ANALOGUE PREAMPLIFIER
The rear panel provides two balanced XLR inputs and one stereo RCA input, together with balanced XLR and RCA preamplifier outputs. The headphone and preamp sections can be operated independently, allowing the H26 to serve as the analogue control centre for headphones, active loudspeakers or an external power amplifier.
RELAY VOLUME CONTROL
Volume is controlled by a relay-based attenuation matrix designed for precise channel matching. Two selectable gain levels provide additional flexibility when moving between sensitive headphones and more demanding loads, while the supplied remote control allows convenient operation from the listening position.
