FOSI AUDIO BOX X5 PHONO PREAMPLIFIER
The Fosi Audio Box X5 is a compact phono preamplifier designed for both moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges. It provides the gain and RIAA equalization required to connect a turntable to an amplifier, preamplifier or active speaker system without a dedicated phono input.
MM & MC CARTRIDGE COMPATIBILITY
A front-panel selector allows the Box X5 to operate with either MM or MC cartridges. This makes it suitable for a broad range of turntables and cartridge types, while a dedicated grounding terminal provides the correct connection point for compatible turntable ground leads.
FOUR SELECTABLE GAIN LEVELS
The rear-panel gain selector provides four settings of 38dB, 48dB, 56dB and 66dB. This allows the output level to be matched more appropriately to different cartridge sensitivities, from conventional moving-magnet designs to lower-output moving-coil cartridges.
OPA1612 & PRECISION RIAA EQUALIZATION
The analogue circuit uses an OPA1612 operational amplifier together with precision passive components. Fosi Audio specifies 2% polyester film capacitors, 0.1% precision film resistors and carefully selected audio capacitors, supporting accurate RIAA equalization and low-noise operation.
SIMPLE ANALOGUE SIGNAL PATH
Connectivity is deliberately straightforward: a stereo RCA phono input accepts the turntable signal, while a stereo RCA output connects to the line-level input of the downstream amplifier or preamplifier. The Box X5 is a dedicated phono stage and is not intended to operate as a conventional line-level preamplifier.
COMPACT ALUMINIUM CHASSIS
The Box X5 uses an aluminium-alloy enclosure with front-panel power and cartridge-type controls. Its compact dimensions make it easy to position close to a turntable, while the supplied 16V power adapter provides the dedicated supply required by the phono circuit.
