LHY AUDIO AS-6 NETWORK SWITCH

The LHY Audio AS-6 is a dedicated audiophile Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for high-quality network audio systems. Combining five RJ45 Ethernet ports, one SFP optical interface, a high-precision OCXO clock and an integrated low-noise linear power supply, it provides a carefully engineered network connection for streamers, music servers and network-enabled DACs.

FIVE GIGABIT ETHERNET PORTS & SFP CONNECTIVITY

The AS-6 offers four standard Gigabit RJ45 connections plus a fifth RJ45 port with dedicated digital transformer isolation. The isolated port is intended for sensitive network audio equipment, helping reduce the transfer of unwanted electrical interference through the Ethernet connection.

A separate Gigabit SFP interface supports compatible optical network modules, allowing fibre connections between suitable networking devices. Optical links can provide galvanic separation between connected network segments when correctly configured. Compatible SFP transceivers and fibre cabling may be required separately.

PRECISION OCXO CLOCK ARCHITECTURE

At the heart of the AS-6 is a high-precision SC-cut oven-controlled crystal oscillator, supported by low-phase-noise PLL circuitry. This architecture provides a stable timing reference for the switch's internal Ethernet operation.

A dedicated 10MHz BNC input allows the switch to use a compatible external master clock. This is a clock input, not an output, and does not replace the separate clock connections required by DACs or digital transports.

LOW-NOISE LINEAR POWER SUPPLY

The AS-6 incorporates a toroidal transformer, AC EMI filtering and high-speed rectification circuitry. Three independently regulated LT3042 and PNP low-noise power rails supply critical internal sections, including the clock and network circuitry.

This integrated power architecture is intended to reduce internal electrical noise without requiring an additional external linear power supply.

CNC-MACHINED ALUMINIUM CONSTRUCTION

The compact 240 × 175 × 50mm chassis is machined from aluminium alloy, with internal separation between sensitive functional sections. Its solid construction and integrated mains power supply make the AS-6 suitable for placement alongside dedicated audio networking and streaming equipment.

DESIGNED FOR NETWORK AUDIO SYSTEMS

The AS-6 can connect a router, NAS, music server, network streamer and other Ethernet-enabled components within a Gigabit network. Its isolated RJ45 port and optional optical connection provide flexibility when planning a system with multiple digital sources.

The switch transports network data rather than directly decoding or converting audio. Any audible benefit depends on the connected equipment, electrical environment and overall system configuration.
